GET TO KNOW ME

I'm a journalist and a videographer passionate about telling stories and conveying the correct information amid growing confusion in the online environment due to the misuse of new media and emerging technologies. I began writing online at Yeniperspektif.com in 2003 and committed to writing since then. After completing my Business Administration studies at Başkent University in 2007, I moved to İstanbul in late 2009 to join the foreign news desk on Hurriyet.com.tr. Following the intense newsroom environment for over two years, I joined NTV.com.tr to become the science and technology editor. My additional experience included managing the 'Yeni Medya Düzeni' blog and contributing to the digital tech magazine Digitt. The third step in İstanbul was Al Jazeera Turk, where I mastered my video interview skills and expanded my scope in tech and science news. I completed my Master's in Journalism at Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2020, and, following an intense period of video production at a co-working space at the heart of the city, I moved to the Netherlands to explore new opportunities. I currently reside in Maastricht and continue my online journalism and videography work. At my blog, DijitalX, I continue supporting university student in their online research and writing skills in English and Turkish.
